In 2000 George Harrison discussed the idea of using the Beatles music for a Cirque De Soleil show with his friend Guy Laliberté, the co-founder of Cirque De Soleil. Three years later an agreement was made between McCartney, Starr, Harrison's widow Olivia and Lennon's widow Yoko Ono to create LOVE, a show that was the first of its kind.
But before LOVE creative musicians, producers, and engineers created their own mashups without access to the original multitracks that were made available to the Martins. Tonight we’re going to explore the world of Beatles remixers and hear their innovative creations, so turn off your mind relax and float downstream with Volume 1 of the Beatles Mashups and Remixes.

We'll focus on the debut single on the Apple label, arguably the first power ballad McCartney's "Hey Jude," and a McCartney track from the White Album, "I Will."

Ringo Starr was awarded a knighthood by Britain's Queen Elizabeth in her 2018 New Year honors list joining former band mate Paul McCartney and ex-Beatles producer George Martin, who received the honor in 1997 and 1996 respectively. To celebrate this milestone we’re going to focus on Starr’s collaborations with each member of the Beatles after their break-up.

On December 12, 2017 singer/songwriter and founding member of Power Pop band The Smithereens Pat DiNizio passed away at the age of 62. The band had always played Beatles covers in their set, but in 2007 they truly demonstrated their fandom by releasing Meet The Smithereens, a track by track interpretation of the Beatles 1964 debut album on Capitol Records Meet The Beatles. The next year they released B-sides, a compilation of lesser known Beatles b-sides and album tracks. Episode #86 celebrates the music of Pat DiNizio and the Smithereens with songs from these two albums.

Episode #84 will continue our exploration of Paul McCartney the bass player with songs from 1966 and 1967, a period where his development as a player, and the sound of his bass on record, reached new levels figuratively and literally.
